Jessica Miller (formerly Wheeldon) has been part of the La Plata County community since 2006. As a volunteer, she was active on the board of Boys & Girls Club beginning prior to its opening. Professionally, she worked for the La Plata County Department of Human Services as a caseworker for 15 years. In 2022, Jessica transitioned to facilitating training for The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect based at CU-Anschutz. She has learned that the most effective way to strengthen families is to support community-based resources where people feel comfortable accessing assistance for themselves. The WRC is one of those safe, approachable sources of support for our community, and Jessica is honored to serve on its board. Jessica has a master’s degree in Leadership and Management, is a Co-Active-trained coach, and is trained in Collaborative, Facilitative, and Interest-Based Mediation. Jessica enjoys live music, podcasts, crafty creative projects, and, most of all, being home with her pups and her partner.
