March 25 – Extraordinary Women Award Dinner, 5:30 pm @ DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino Del Rio, Durango
Come relive the Roaring 20s at the Women’s Resource Center’s celebration of Women’s History Month honoring Valiant Women of the Vote! Buffet dinner, live auction, live music and dancing. 1920s dress/costume is highly encouraged.
This year we will be honoring Tiffany Lee Parker, who personifies the national theme of Valiant Women of the VOTE! Tiffany Parker has been the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder since 2010 and is responsible for election administration, recording real property transactions, issuing marriage and civil union licenses and vehicle registrations. She is a strong advocate at the state and national level to make voting more accessible to every citizen.
By advocating for improved access to voting, Tiffany effectively increases the voices of women in our community to speak their desires and needs which makes La Plata County a better place to raise their children and for all of us to live. Despite being a full-time working mother herself, she has devoted over 5 years serving on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of La Plata County and is currently their Board President. She is passionate about supporting other working mothers by providing a safe place for kids to be after school where they are encouraged and inspired to reach their full potential and ultimately become productive, caring and responsible citizens.
