March 29 – Extraordinary Women Award Dinner, 5:30 pm @ DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino Del Rio, Durango
The Women’s Resource Center has made a tradition of recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of La Plata County women during Women’s History Month. This year we will be honoring women who have become our storytellers.
The national 2023 Women’s History Month theme is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.” Throughout the month of March, we will be recognizing women, past and present, who have been active in all forms of media and story telling, including print, radio, TV, stage, screen, blogs, podcasts, news and social media. This timely theme honors women in every community who have devoted their lives and talents to producing art and news, pursuing truth, and reflecting society decade after decade. Our story-telling sisters in the media are essential to make our collective history visible; together, we can know the story landscape.
2023 Extraordinary Woman: This year’s award winner is Judith Reynolds! Judith has been an educator, administrator, cartoonist, playwright, author, graphic artist, and free-lance journalist. Join us in celebrating her at the Extraordinary Woman Award dinner on March 29!
