Legal Assistance

Colorado Legal Services
Pro-se (Do-it-yourself) Divorce & Custody Clinics
If you are filing for your own divorce or custody and need assistance, Colorado Legal Services offers a free clinic a few times per year. The clinic typically runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Durango Public Library.  The clinic covers general information about Colorado family law, including divorce and custody. You’ll learn what papers you need to start the action, general procedures, issues to look out for, resources, and other information. Instructors do NOT provide legal advice on individual cases.  Call (970) 247-0266 for more information.

Low Bono Program – Women’s Resource Center
Once per month, the Women’s Resource Center offers legal consultations with a lawyer for $30 on matters of divorce and custody.  Clients must be of low to medium income. The program has been made possible by a generous grant from the Colorado Bar Foundation. For more information about the program, contact the Women’s Resource Center at (970) 247-1242.

Divorce & Custody Packets
Divorce and custody paperwork is available for $10 at the Women’s Resource Center, 679 E. Second Ave., Unit 6.
